Melinda's Shotgun

Melinda wanted to be a police officer. She went online on July 20, 2006 and purchased a guide and a practice test for the CBJAT test. She took the actual test on July 26, 2006. She got her results on August 2, 2006. That's when she placed a $50 deposit on her shotgun at Pat Pawn & Gun Shop. She had to wait for the FDLE background check, for which she paid a $5 fee. She picked up the gun on August 16, 2006 when she turned 21 years old.

Here is her Providian Credit Card statement showing her charges for the online course and materials and for her Notary Bond and for the deposit on the shotgun.

On the morning of July 4, 2006 Melinda opened up her myspace private messages and received a threatening email signed by Josh Duckett.

On July 14, 2006 Melinda found 2 pictures she had not seen before of Josh and his motorcycle. These pictures were handed to her by Trenton. He had been in his bedroom and the window was slightly open, as she usually had her windows slightly open while she was home.

Melinda decided she wanted to be in law enforcement. She had been intimately involved with police officer Lucas Brown. She had been in the military reserves.

She didn't get a notary bond to notarize papers to sell Trenton, or send him to Korea, or any of those things. She spent $207 to be a notary and to earn extra money. She displayed it on her Avon Representative business card.

Melinda didn't buy a gun to shoot Trenton and kill him to get him out of her life. She bought a gun and she bought skeet equipment and went target practicing, all to enhance her career to be a law enforcement officer.

Again, the handful of people presented a painted picture of Melinda as a monster to the media.

Look at these pieces of the puzzle. They fit.

So, we are to believe that on April 17, 2006, there was a report made by BOA that Melinda was being investigated for a theft at the bank since Dec. 2005. Yet, in 7/2006, Melinda was able to buy a shotgun, get her notary, AND had spoken to James Dunagan from LPD, giving her a 3 yr commitment to work for the LPD.

Imo, if the BOA were really investigating Melinda for that theft, maybe she could have gotten the notary since there were no charges filed, BUT, buy a shotgun & get that 3 yr commitment by a member of the same department investigating the BOA?

ummm, I think I smell a big fat dead Rat....

No, that's a LIVE Rat.

Those people made Melinda out to be a monster and like mindless sheep , the media/public bought it. This goes to show you just how many people will get caught up in a mob mentality :-(

Just a note about why Melinda was considering the Leesburg Police Dept as a career. When she went to the police to press charges against Josh for the threatening email, they suggested she get a restraining order, which she filed for the next day. (Closed for July 4th holiday)
She received a telephone call from Det. Jim Dunnegan a few days later. He asked her how the restraining order went. They started talking about police work, and Jim Dunnegan suggested she try to take the CBJAT test as they were starting classes in August. This fits the timeline, as she went online and ordered the guide and the practice tests. In Melinda's agenda she wrote on July 24th "Call Detective". Then on July 25th she wrote in her agenda "Jim Dunnegan 10 AM Vivian (secretary) 12:30." Then in her agenda on July 26th she wrote "turn in application". That's the day she took the CBJAT test.

Then in her agenda for August 1st she wrote "visit Melissa 7-9 (Peterson Old 441). This was her friend who was in jail. Then on Aug. 2nd she put a deposit on the shotgun, on Aug 3rd she notated to ask Cara to babysit August 27th (Her scheduled visit to James Duckett in prison). Then Aug 6 she scheduled to run with Chen at the park (she ran to get in shape for the police academy. Also on Auag 6, she wrote "Blake shooting". August 13 she wrote Spanish Class $35 (private lessons) On Aug 19 "flea market/car show Mike Johnson 11:30.
August 20 she wrote "Pearce". August 22, Job Core one stop and Aug 24th Spanish 2-3, run with Chen.

This all had to do with her trying to get into the police academy for the August signup. That class was full, so she was scheduled to attend in January.

Something else to consider: Jim Dunnegan was Richard E Giles partner. If Giles was pursuing Melinda for the BOA, Dunnegan would have known about it. Why would he be encouraging Melinda to join the academy? In my opinion, Giles never went to see Melinda in April as stated in the report. Normally two detectives would have gone to interview her. Melinda made no note about it anywhere, I think it was made up after the fact, again to make Melinda be the prime suspect. Smoke and Mirrors.

It seems that someone had been driving this story from every angle...I wonder if Giles even realizes that he may have been duped...

I believe that someone has been driving this story from every angle also. I don't believe it is only one person. That's why I state "a handful of people". The "one person" has the motive and the rest are followers.

Melinda's Baker Acting took more than one person to pull off. Even getting Bushnell Police Chief Joyce Wells to listen in on the phone call - on the weekend and after midnight - took some arranging.

The people in Melinda's everyday life - I believe some were placed there on purpose - Two come to mind: Lucas Brown (policeman in Sumter County that she dated at the time of the threatening email from Josh) and Chris Pearce (who was invited by Melinda the night Trenton went missing) Chris Pearce also attended Melinda's birthday party. Chris was in the military and was scheduled to leave the following day of Trenton's disappearance. Only he was given the poly, Danny Bass was under 18 and was not given a poly (he was the other one at the apartment when Trenton went missing). And Danny was a last minute invite.

When I spoke with the MCSO they mentioned how there were so many coincidences in this case. One coincidence that I discovered was that detective Richard Giles has a family member whose last name is Pearce.

For some reason I was thinking of Trenton tonight and I Googled Melinda and found this site...

Lemme ask you 1 question...

What about the pornographic pics showing her engaged in sex acts near her son? How does this paint her in a good mom light?

That was a photoshopped picture. It wasn't Melinda but another young woman named Mes who came forward. That picture doesn't even look like Melinda. (her nose is too wide) and Josh in an interview on Nancy Grace (when he NEVER BASHES MELINDA) stated that he was 110% sure that was Trenton. It wasn't Trenton and later debunked. The police know it wasn't Trenton and that the picture was a fake. As far as the porn video, the Palm Beach attorneys have a copy of the porn video, (It was sent to them) and Josh was part of that home made video. Probably done at Carla's really nice double wide. That was the video that Laurie Konnerth brought to the Leesburg Police station and stated on one of her forum posts " the detective practically skipped when I handed him that video.". Talk about someone driving the story. This is the same person that Bill Eubank mentioned in his letter he handed to Josh in the attorney's office in March 2008. How she was so certain that Melinda being on the Nancy Grace show would back her into a corner and then she was capable of doing anything. I will be posting all those comments by Laurie Konnerth in a later article on this blog.

I figured that the picture was fake. Melinda never anticipated that the video she made with Josh would be used to hurt her. I wonder if that's what he'd had in mind , I wouldn't put anything past these evil people....
