Sunday Afternoon

After Melinda's trek to Orlando and back she was seen by a witness named Wahanina Leggett who lived in the same apartment complex. Here is her sworn statement to Denise Nevers of the FDLE

Let's examine this statement from Wahanina Leggett:

The statement was given one week after Leggett saw Melinda.
Leggett said she saw Melinda while Leggett was walking (from the parking lot) toward her own apartment, so Leggett was facing the fence.  If Melinda said hello to Legget, Melinda must have been coming FROM her own apartment TOWARD her car which was parked in that area.

Also, Leggett stated that Melinda wore a "coat", blue jeans and a hat. Here is the weather report for Sunday August 27, 2006. At the time frame  (3:30 - 4:30PM) that Leggett stated she saw Melinda it was 90 degrees. Why would Melinda wear a "coat"? However, at 6:14 PM there was a light rain.

Leggett also stated that she did not see Trenton with Melinda. There are possible explanations for this. Melinda could have arrived earlier than Leggett and taken Trenton to the apartment and fed him and put him in for the night. Then run out to the car to get her laptop or whatever and threw on her jacket  because it was raining and saw Leggett and said "hello".  That would fit the timeline for the weather and explain why Trenton was not with her.

Melinda stated that she carried Trenton from the car to the apartment in her own statement to police. So if Leggett said she (Leggett) was walking TOWARD her apartment and facing the fence and saw Melinda walking along the fence line, Melinda's BACK would have been toward Leggett and Melinda would not even had seen Leggett nor have a reason to say hello.

Melinda talks about driving into her apartment complex and seeing the confrontational neighbor Melissa Inglis who lived with her children in apartment 55 which was near the roundabout. That is the reason she parked in the other parking lot as pictured above.

Her statement continued.

So Melinda states that she arrived home around 5:30. Not between 3:30 and 4:30 like Leggett stated to police.  But  the cell phone pings indicated that Melinda was in the vacinity of her apartment around 5:00 PM.

There is a gap in time between 5:14 and 6:40 PM. This could have been when Melinda was feeding Trenton then placing him in bed. This is also when she could have run out to her car for whatever reason (without Trenton) and saw Wahanina Leggett.

One Day...August 26, 2006

Saturday, August 26, 2006 Melinda wrote in her agenda "lunch?".  This referred to the myspace posting from early Saturday morning (1:11 AM) from Chen to meet for lunch.

Melinda and Trenton arrived at the Eubanks' home in The Villages around 9:30 AM. Melinda did her week of laundry and Trenton played. Billy Eubank had some maintenance to take care of at their church during lunchtime. Nancy prepared lunch for the three of them. She always kept things at the house for Trenton.  Melinda and Trenton took a two hour nap before they had their lunch.  When Billy got back from the church he suggested eating out, but Nancy, Melinda and Trenton had already eaten. Melinda took her folded laundry and left with Trenton around 4:00 - 4:30 PM.  Nancy and Billy went out to eat at a local restaurant after they had left.

Melinda received two myspace postings while she was at the Eubanks'. She usually brought her laptop with her but it doesn't appear that she went on the internet while she was at her grandparents'. However, at 4:20 she sent a message to Aurora about taking a little rest and relaxation (R and R). Apparently she didn't call Ryan Misener (RyBEAR) to come over Saturday night. However, according to the FDLE interview of Ryan Misener she called him Sunday morning to invite him to come to her house that night for a movie.

This is after she left the grandparents' in the Villages:

Leesburg police stated that they discovered Melinda purchased gas by finding a billing statement that arrived at an old post office box (that she no longer used) from BP after her death. This was a brand new credit card and this was the first and only statement that she received.  However...the actual credit card was NEVER found. She had approximately 17 credit cards/debit cards but NO BP card. Melinda filled up her gas tank the day before for $32.46 using her debit card. (An Eclipse gets approximately 325 miles to a tank of gas)  She still had plenty of money in her bank account ($726.14) so why would she add a new debt when she was trying to get rid of her debts. And why would she only purchase under $10 in gas and on a credit card, and a brand new one at that.

Speculation on my part:  The actual purchase amount of gas was between $5 and $8. That sounds more like filling up a gas tank for a motorcycle. The old post office box was one she used in Bushnell where she lived with Josh Duckett.  It appears to me that "someone" wanted to place Melinda in a certain area at that time. There also was a telephone call at 8:13 PM that the police have refused to identify on Melinda's timeline. It was stated that Josh Duckett spoke to Melinda that night. But the person who made that statement (Josh's best friend's wife Pamela Stout-Scott) was told to retract that statement (By a call to her mother-in-law - a friend of Carla Massero's).

The Plot thickens.

Friday, August 25, 2006 Melinda wrote in her agenda about a money credit due her because of a status change for Trenton's daycare.

Again, it makes absolutely no sense for these entries into her agenda if she was planning on meeting up with someone on Saturday or Sunday to hide Trenton away from Josh. Where is the logic in these activies for a very methodical, organized person? So, the investigators have come to a very illogical conclusion in this missing child case.

Melinda's myspace entries for August 25, 2006:

Melinda called the Eubanks to pick up Trenton from daycare. She had a "slight emergency". An unnamed girl friend borrowed her dad's sportscar and it was overheating. She was down near Tampa and called Melinda to come get her.  Melinda had experience  driving cars that overheated (the old Neon she had with Josh) so she agreed to drive the sportscar back and the girl drove Melinda's car.  Apparently Melinda also attended a small party where they played beer pong.

According to Melinda's checkbook register, she purchased gas for $32.46 with her bank debit card. This left her a checkbook balance of $726.14.  She had already paid her rent to Windemere Villas for $405 on August 20, 2006. Now if she was thinking of "getting out of Dodge" why did she pay her September rent one week before Trenton went missing?

Billy Eubank wrote in later that Melinda had lost her daycare assistance - because she had lost her job at TruGreen. Now she had to pay the $125 in full without any reimbursement.

Here is the Lake County Circuit Court information on Melinda's divorce from Josh Duckett. Note the dates:

Here it is  Wednesday, only four days before Trenton goes missing.  There is a "very mad crowd at Melinda" over there in Sumter County where Josh Duckett lives. Josh had been to see his father in prison on August 12, 2006 and found out that Melinda showed James Duckett the copy of the threatening email, and that his father was paying money to Melinda for Trenton's child support because Josh was not paying. Josh caught up the child support for the July 12 restraining order hearing, but did NOT pay July's payment nor August's payment. Why wouldn't he pay? Especially since he was in contempt for non-payment before? Why was there such a "mad crowd" over in Sumter County? Melinda was having "issues" with Josh since August 12 (and the threatening email July 3, 2006 when Josh's mother was served the contempt of court for non payment of child support papers).  Melinda was trying to go by the "book". She had her attorney file papers incorporating the restraining order with her divorce.

Melinda wanted to hire someone to "talk some sense into Josh", but it never happened. She kept Trenton close to her at all times. And in her own tearful words to Billy Eubank, "I was suppose to protect him (Trenton) but he was taken right out from under my nose".

Why can no one see what really happened here?

Melinda Duckett's Myspace entries for August 22, 2006

This is a myspace posting to Kyle Bowden from Chen's sister Anna telling him she was coming to Florida around the time Trenton went missing. Police believed Melinda handed Trenton off to Anna but they were mistaken.

Melinda wrote in her agenda that she was meeting John at Ramshackles. This is John Fiveash who worked with her delivering newspapers for the Villages Sun. He was one of the many people she contacted to get $5,000 to protect her and Trenton because she was having issues with Josh Duckett. (She was contacting any and everyone after August 12, 2006 when Josh had visited his father in prison)  Fiveash told Melinda he wanted to meet up with her to discuss it face to face. He suggested Ramshackles as he remembered she told him she lived in that area. Melinda then told him to just come to the apartment.  Here is John Fiveash's statement to Leesburg Police on August 31, 2006:



Then on September 6, Fiveash went back to the detectives and gave an additional statement.

After reading the statement and listening to the actual audio recordings of John Fiveash, I noticed that he worked in Ocala, Florida within a short distance from where I live. Here is what I wrote on a private forum regarding my meeting with John Fiveash.



I have spoken to John Fiveash a number of times. He says he was curious as to why Josh Duckett wasn't showing any "urgency" in finding Trenton. He wanted to discuss this with the Leesburg Police but they basically blew him off.  During the Casey Anthony trial he called me again and wanted to arrange a meeting but it never happened.

His comment about Melinda having a friend in the Navy (Nicole Diaz in her statement to Leesburg Police mentioned Nick Kristaf in New York).  Melinda had another friend in the military Stev Wilson. I contacted Stev Wilson on his facebook account and he sent me this email. He also called Billy Eubank and stated the same information to him on the phone. Here is that email:
